Based on the World Consensus, our expansive world consist of about 196 countries, over 19 major religions, and over 5000 languages. Together, they make up over 10,000 different cultures, that's 10,000 different way of life, way of thinking and perspective on the world. Having experiences with different culture groups broadens your knowledge and deepens your understanding on many aspects in life and in what you grew up to understand in general. For example, If you were deeply religious and if you traveled more and experienced more varieties of religious practices, this will deepen your own understanding as you have analyzed different views to the same topic.

This blog has a good perspective on why people should travel. I like to travel myself! I find myself backpacking when I do do it. I feel like it's one of the best ways to explore new cutlures.
